Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation?

The nonprofit Lompoc Hospital District Foundation was founded in 1990 by a dedicated group of volunteers aiming to promote health education, raise funds to purchase equipment and to educate the public about its own community hospital.

The Foundation’s membership is now about 3,800 people, with a Foundation Board of Trustees with 80 members.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes, monetary and in-kind donations to the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation are tax-deductible within the guidelines of state and federal law.

How can I donate to the Foundation?

Monetary and in-kind gifts can be donated in a variety of ways. Online donations may be made and personal checks can be sent to the:

Lompoc Hospital Foundation
P.O. Box 883
Lompoc CA 93438-0883

For larger scale donations or in-kind offerings, please contact the Foundation office at (805) 737-5762.

How does the Foundation allocate its donations?

The Foundation routinely conducts specific capital campaigns for facilities within the hospital district. The Foundation Board of Trustees, along with hospital administration, determines large-scale projects or equipment needs and purposefully raises funds for those specific needs. In that past, that has included the equipment and furniture outfitting of the newly built Lompoc Valley Medical Center and the current campaign for the remodeling of the Comprehensive Care Center rooms.

How will my donation be recognized?

The names of donors are periodically listed in the district’s Community Connection newsletter sent to 25,000 homes.
